Villa in the Woods, located in Uttarakhand has been designed to be part of a community living masterplan amidst a vast acreage of Himalayan forest.

We worked with the team at Studio Lotus to design a welcoming home away from home. The challenge was in tying together the three levels of the villa into a cohesive space through the furniture, arts and accessories used.

All the furniture was created with comfort in mind. Visions of afternoons spent reading or time spent enjoying the forest harking back to a quieter time governed the style of furniture. Using craft techniques found in Uttarakhand like Pine Needle craft and wood carving albeit with a neoteric interpretation brought a geographical context into the space.

The accessorization and styling were also done to create a seamless story that speaks of a home that has come together over a period of time, one that has collectibles from around the world while showcasing art from around India.
